Dissidents, Legislators meet Jagan

The revelation by suspended PCC general secretary Ambati Rambabu that former Kadapa MP YS Jaganmohan Reddy will soon announce his own political party has led to a series of political leaders making a beeline to YSJ’s residence in Banjara Hills on Friday.

Among those who called on Mr Jaganmohan Reddy were sitting and former Legislators, politicians and film personalities. Amarnath Reddy, Srikant Reddy, Katasani Rambhupal Reddy, Kamalamma, former minister Silpa Mohan Reddy’s brother Chakrapani Reddy, Chegondi Harirama Jogaiah, actor Vijay Chander were among those who visited the former Kadapa MP.

Senior Congress leader and five time MLA  from Panyam constituency Rambhupal Reddy expressed his displeasure over not getting a berth in the Cabinet.

Talking to media persons after meeting Mr Jaganmohan Reddy, Mr Rambhupal Reddy demanded that the Chief Minister give an explanation why he was not accommodated in the Cabinet.

“I will take this issue to the notice of High Command seeking injustice,” he stated.

When the reporters asked him about meeting with Jaganmohan Reddy, Mr Rambhupal Reddy said “I came here to invite Jagan to my daughters’ marriage. There is no political importance to the meeting. I have not discussed anything with him”, he said.

He said that Jagan will take a decision on the formation of new party after consulting all his well-wishers and supporters.

Though Mr Rambhupal Reddy attributed his meeting to the wedding invitation, the others were more expressive about their visit.

They did not attempt to hide the fact that they had visited the MP on hearing the news of his yet-to-be-announced party.

The revelation that Mr Jaganmohan Reddy would float his own party, most probably to be named YSR Congress party, was expected since the day the former MP had embarked on his yatra of defiance and consolation, political analysts say.
