Senior Telangana Rashtra Samithi Leader Nayani Narsimha Reddy on Monday stated that the presence of Central Paramilitary Forces in Telangana region gives rise to the feeling that the state is under President’s rule.

Talking to media persons while participating in the picketing of Hyderabad District Collectorate at Abids, as part of the call given by TRS to mount pressure on Centre to table a Telangana Bill in Parliament, Mr Narsimha Reddy blamed Governor E S L Narasimhan for sending wrong report to Centre seeking more Central Forces. He said that the Report sent by the Government had expressed fears of violence breaking out after the Justice Srikrishna Committee Report being made public.

Mr Narsimha Reddy said the Governor has effectively turned Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy as a rubber stamp and was ruling the state. The TRS leader demanded the Centre to recall the Governor immediately and stated that Mr Narasimhan had exceeded his brief and was violating the democratic spirit.

Telangana Political Joint Action Committee Convenor Kodandaram criticized the Telugu Desam Party and Congress for not making their stand clear on Telangana state. Demanding the immediate withdrawal of central forces from the Telangana region, Prof Kodandaram urged the government to lift restrictions on media coverage.

The Telangana activists resorted to a blockade of the road and disrupted traffic for some time. The police, sensing trouble from TRS activists, took a few of the activists into custody and shifted them to nearby police station. BJP senior leader Bandaru Lakshman was also present.
