Bharatiya Janata Party state unit president G Kishen Reddy on Wednesday appealed to Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy to consider payment of arrears to the caterers running the messes in the state universities.
Payment of arrears will facilitate the mess caterers to reopen the messes, said Mr Kishen Reddy while speaking to the media persons at the state Secretariat.
He sought the intervention of the government to maintain parity in the mess charges collected from post graduates who were paying Rs 950 and graduates Rs 520.
Mr Kishen Reddy stated that he favoured that graduates also be charged Rs 950.
Negating the allegations raised by the Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen that RSS and VHP activists were behind communal violence, he charged the MIM with instigating the innocent Muslim youth to involve them in violence.
The MIM seeks support of the ruling party of the day to subserve their interests, the BJP leader maintained.
Reacting on the Chief Minister's favourable disposal on lifting of the cases against the people allegedly involved in pro and anti separate statehood violence, Mr Kishen Reddy observed that
lifting such cases would invite legal complications.
The BJP leader also urged the Chief Minister to consider increasing the daily wages of the Home Guards.
