The two Praja Rajyam Party MLAs who participated in the Jal Deeksha of Kadapa leader YS Jaganmohan Reddy on January 11 will have to soon explain their presence in New Delhi to the party bosses. Taking a strong exception over the two MLAs for violating party discipline, PRP official representative Vasi Reddy Padma on Sunday said that the two MLAs would be issued a show-cause notice after Pongal festival and their explanations sought.
Talking to media persons at party office in Jubilee Hills, Ms Padma questioned the rationale behind the MLAs participating in Jal Deeksha instead of party president K Chiranjeevi’s `Rythu Paramarsyatra’ in Krishna, Guntur and Khammam districts.
“Those who used Mr Chiranjeevi’s glamour and charisma to win elections have no moral right to join hands with others”, she said. She added that the party chief would take serious disciplinary action against the MLAs for their anti-party activities. The PRP representative said the people would teach a fitting lesson to those who indulge in treachery in the elections and reject their candidature.
Reacting on the petrol price hike, Ms Padma demanded immediate withdrawal of the price hike as they would further burden the common man, who are already in dire straits due to rise in essential commodities. Ms Padma said the party would intensify its protest against petrol price hike until the government announces a roll back. She urged the government to make efforts for reducing prices of essential commodities.
