Condemning Telugu Desam Party president N Chandrababu Naidu’s statements that corruption was rampant during Congress regime, All India Congress Committee general secretary and MLC Ponguleti Sudhakar Reddy on Thursday stated that the former chief has no moral right to talk on Congress as his on and off allies, the Left parties described the TDP chief as `King of Corruption’ during his tenure.

Talking to media persons at CLP Office, Mr Sudhakar Reddy said the people are not in a position to believe the any allegations made by Mr Naidu on the issue of corruption.

Instead of demanding a probe on the alleged corruption at Centre and state, the former chief minister should first clear the secret behind his phenomenal growth in wealth, Mr Sudhakar Reddy demanded. He added that Mr Naidu should leak the secret on how he became owner for thousands of crores of rupees of property during his nine-year stint as chief minister, especially when he had only a 2 acre plot of land to begin with.

Mr Sudhakar Reddy further challenged Mr Naidu to agree for a probe into his illegal assets. “If he is ready for probe, I will ask government to constitute a team to probe his assets,” the MLC stated.

He also reminded that the Left party leaders had published a book, `Babuka Zamana, Corruption ka khazana’, (Babu’s rule, treasure of corruption) which highlights Mr Naidu’s corruption during his tenure.

Reacting on the statements made by the former chief minister that the government is indifferent to farmers’ problems, Mr Sudhakar said Mr Naidu was shedding crocodile tears on issue. He asked the TDP chief to check the government records how much money the state government spent on farmers and their welfare.

Referring to the ongoing tussle between pro and anti Jaganmohan Reddy groups, the MLC said the Congress party and government will always respect former chief minister YS Rajasekhara Reddy and his contributions to the state.

The MLC said that Anakapalle MP Sabbam Hari comments against Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy were unwarranted and untimely.

Reacting on persistent demands by Telangana Rashtra Samithi president K Chandrasekhar Rao’s that the Congress Legislators resign from their posts, Mr Sudhakar asked KCR to resign from his MP seat first and set a trend for Telangana agitation.
