He said that the opposition started mud-slinging in the backdrop of Mr Kiran Kumar Reddy's comments in New Delhi even while the Chief Minister only said that it was unethical now to make caustic remarks against the Congress leadership after having derived benefit and reaping the harvest to the brim on the party symbol and popularity for decades.

Mr Tulasi Reddy also pointed out that the Chief Minister did not hesitate to mention how close he was with former chief minister YS Rajasekhara Reddy. He also quoted Mr Kiran Kumar Reddy as saying that at YSR’s behest, he had to work overtime within a very short time to find solution for 'saving' Mr Jaganmohan Reddy.

Mr Tulasi Reddy further quoted the Chief Minister saying that, ‘YSR did not even think of the 'plan of action' that he (Mr Kiran Kumar Reddy) would take in so short a time for the 'purpose' (of saving Mr Jaganmohan Reddy),.

The 20-point Economic Programme chairman additionally said that the Chief Minister made the statement only to reveal his proximity with Dr YSR.

He regretted that the comments were ‘misinterpreted by the Opposition and media.
