YSV to take up cudgels against YSR's detractors

Agriculture Minister Ys Vivekananda Reddy on Friday stated that those who are leveling baseless allegations against former chief minister YS Rajasekhara Reddy are causing enormous damage to the Congress party.

Talking to media persons, the Agriculture Minister said the leaders, in order to target former Kadapa MP YS Jaganmohan Reddy and damage his image, are targeting the former chief minister YSR.

This, he said, is an error and any damage to YSR’s image would also damage the Congress since the former chief minister is seen as the ‘face’ of the party.

The Agriculture Minister said that his brother had come back to power for the second consecutive term based on his ‘sincere and concentrated efforts to solve the people’s problem.

He said that he was losing his patience and is contemplating action against YSR’s detractors for making baseless and serious charges against the former chief minister.

“I will rebut the allegations whoever or whichever party leader makes on YSR”, he stated.

Reacting on charges of rampant corruption and amassing of wealth illegally by YSR family members, Mr Vivekananda Reddy said the family members were in state politics since the past 30 years and they have not committed any irregularities or have been involved in corruption or resorted to illegal methods to earn money.
