Telangana Jagruthi President, K Kavitha on Wednesday cast doubts on the commitment of Nizamabad MP representing the Congress Party Madhu Yaskhi Goud towards the separate Telangana statehood issue.

Talking to media persons, she alleged that Mr Yaskhi Goud was talking more and doing less towards achieving the separate state for Telangana people.

Kavitha said that she has suspicion over Mr Yaskhi Goud’s commitment on the issue and added that she also has doubts if the MP was using the agitation for gains in his political career.

Reacting on the statement made by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on Wednesday in which he said that consensus needed to be evolved to solve the ‘complicated’ Telangana statehood issue, Kavitha said that the consensus was needed by all Congress leaders of the region who should take a decision to resign from their posts so that the Centre is pressurized to take an earlier decision on the contentious issue.

She asked the Telangana Congress leaders to open their eyes ‘at least now’, after reading the Prime Minister’s statement and resign from their posts. This would show their commitment towards the Telangana issue, she said.

Kavitha further stated that the Telangana people would oppose the `Maa Telugu Tallike Mallepu Danda’ as State Anthem.

The government would face serious consequences if it tries to initiate disciplinary action or ESMA on those employees, who participate in the noncooperation agitation beginning on February 17, she warned.
