TRS demands apology from Governor

Telangana Rashtra Samithi Deputy Floor Leader in the state assembly T Harish Rao on Friday demanded that Governor ESL Narasimhan tender an unconditional apology to the House for the unparliamentary language used by him during the ruckus which had rocked the House on Thursday.

Talking to media persons at the Media Point on the Assembly premises, Harish Rao warned that his party activists would not let the Governor venture into any part of Telangana if he does not tender his apologies to the House. Alleging that Mr Narasimhan was anti-Telangana, Harish Rao demanded that the Centre immediately recall the Governor or he should tender his resignation on his own accord.

The TRS leader also accused Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy of acting like a factionist leader from Rayalaseema instead like the Head of Government. He said that Mr Kiran Kumar Reddy had used the suspension to try and please Mr Narasimhan so that the Governor does not send a report to the Centre saying that the government cannot even maintain decorum in the Assembly.

“Such a report would surely have forced the Centre to opt for President’s Rule in the state, and the Chief Minister tried to avoid this eventuality by pleasing the Governor and acting against the protesting TRS and TDP MLAs,” Harish Rao stated.
