T protests hit Seemandhra staff's pockets

The Employees from non-Telangana region are in a fix as they were denied their pay on the first day of March.

The Telangana NGO's stir for achieving a separate state of Telangana took a different turn for those belonging to the Rayalaseema and Andhra regions working in the Secretariat here as they have not

received their pay packets.

They expressed their inability and resentment over the predicament they have been placed in.

They could neither introduce the Bill on their own accord nor can they wait helplessly as they are accountable to their kith and kin.

The poor staff deplored that they were paid on the first of the month every month, come what may by the state government. It is learnt that they had gone to Chief Secretary S V Prasad and complained to him.

The staff also poured their grievances to the top officer of the Secretariat on Tuesday.

They are understood to have narrated to him that they were not part of the agitation nor did they participate in the noncooperation stir.

The Seemandhra Employees pointed out that they were at the receiving end even after discharging their duties as per norms, but they were not paid their due.

The working staff who were away from the strike frame appealed to Mr Prasad that action be taken to redress their grievance at the earliest.

The Chief Secretary is understood to have assured that he would do the needful considering their sincerity and loyalty to the government.

If Mr Prasad agrees, a special GO can be issued and arrangement made in no time to pay the salaries of the Seemandhra staff, opined an officer.
