Welcoming the statement by Telangana Telugu Desam Forum convenor Nagam Janardhan Reddy that he would wage a lone battle for Telangana state formation, Telangana Advocates Joint Action Committee co-convenor G Kiran Kumar on Monday expressed his ‘total’ support to the TDP MLA on his decision.

Talking to media persons at the Martyrs Memorial at Gun Park, the Advocates JAC leader stated the events which took place on the Floor of the House were ample evidence that Telugu Desam Party president N Chandrababu Naidu was isolating Mr Janardhan Reddy by not extending any support to him.

Mr Kiran Kumar pointed out that the people of Telangana will re-elect only those who work for the cause of separate statehood and submit their resignations.

He asked Mr Naidu to change his stand immediately and support Telangana state formation demands. “Otherwise he (Mr Naidu) would be seen as a traitor to the Telangana cause by the people and punished at an appropriate time,” Mr Kiran Kumar warned.

A little later after Mr Kiran Kumar spoke, Telangana Telugu Desam Forum convenor Nagam Janardhan Reddy told media persons at the same spot that 369 people committed suicide for the cause of Telangana statehood in 1969. “Now, the Telangana agitation is 100 times bigger than 1969. People from all over Telangana have joined in the struggle and are making efforts for the separate state,” he pointed out.

Leader from Banswada, Pocharam Srinivas, who had quit the TDP and joined hands with pro-Telangana units too spoke after Mr Janardhan Reddy did. He stated “I had resigned from the TDP’s primary membership as Mr Naidu was following double standards on Telangana state formation.”

Mr Srinivas called upon all party leaders, who are working for the cause of Telangana to resign to their posts and express solidarity to the separate statehood agitation.

Expressing his serious displeasure and disappointment over the Telangana TDP MLAs for not supporting Mr Janardhan Reddy in the Assembly, Mr Srinivas said the TTDPF convenor was not alone. “Mr Janardhan Reddy has the support of four crore Telangana people,” Mr Srinivas stated. He demanded that Mr Naidu make his stand clear on Telangana ‘at least now.’
