Telangana People’s Front president Gaddar on Sunday cast doubts whether the Centre may resolve the Telangana statehood issue once the elections to Assemblies of five states are conducted.

Talking to media persons here, the popular Balladeer said that it was doubtful whether the Centre would take any concrete decision on the separate statehood demand since it has not shown any inclination to do so since the past many years.

Criticizing the Centre for its dillydallying attitude towards the Telangana issue, Gaddar stated that the Union Government was now linking the issue with the elections to the other state Assembles.

He said that it would be an endless wait, if left to the Centre to act on the bifurcation demand. The Balladeer said that the Telangana state formation was possible only with people’s agitations, and not by waiting for the Centre to act.

Gaddar also urged Telangana Rashtra Samithi president K Chandrasekhar Rao reconsider his decision on the suspension of three TRS MLAs from the party. He said that the MLAs denial that they not resorted to cross-voting in the Legislative Council elections must be given some weightage.

“The suspended MLAs stated that they have not committed any mistake and voted as per the directions of TRS chief,” the TPF chief pointed out.

KCR must leave the punishment to the erring Legislators to the people, he stated. “The people will give a fitting lesson to those who cheated them in the MLC elections,” he stated.

When asked to comment further, Gaddar said that, “With the suspended MLAs claiming that they have not committed any mistake, I will react only after TRS chief announces a clear statement on the issue.”
