Rajya Sabha member of Telugu Desam Party MV Mysoora Reddy on Friday said he was prepared to contest from the Kadapa Lok Sabha constituency in the forthcoming by-elections scheduled for May 8 if the party decides to field him.
Talking to media persons at Telugu Desam Party Legislature Party office Mr Mysoora Reddy said that, “I will definitely contest if the party High Command directs me to contest in the by-elections.”
“The decision to field me or not is purely the party High Command’s and like a loyal soldier, I will respect whatever it may be,” the TDP Rajya Sabha Member stated.
The senior politician further stated that he was sure that efforts would be made to influence the voters with money power as former Kadapa MP YS Jaganmohan Reddy would spend lot of money to win in the elections. “He would go all-out to win the by-elections. It would be important for him to win at any cost,” the TDP leader stated.
Mr Mysoora Reddy appealed to the Election Commission to take steps for to ensure that the polling agents are appointed from the concerned parties to check bogus voting and electoral malpractices in the elections. He also appealed to the Election Commission to use the jumbling method in electronic voting machines to prevent tampering.
The Rajya Sabha Member also revealed that the TDP has brought to the notice of Election Commission over the use of the image of former chief minister YS Rajasekhara Reddy in the YSR Congress Party flag.
