Senior Congress leader and former minister Jc Diwakar Reddy on Wednesday expressed confidence that the state government will complete its term in office till the next scheduled elections in 2014.
Mr Diwakar Reddy, who has been accused of helping the Telugu Desam Party candidate capture the Legislative Council seat from the Local Authorities Constituency in Anantapur in the recently held elections by Revenue Minister N Raghuveera Reddy, said that he sees no threat to the stability of the Congress government in the state.
Talking to media persons after having the darshan of Lord Bramarambika Mallikarjuna Swamy at Srisailam in Kurnool district, the former minister also expressed confidence that a clear picture on the separate Telangana statehood demand would emerge once elections to Assemblies of five states are concluded.
“The results of the Assembly elections in the five states going to polls would also have a bearing on the Centre’s decision. Till these results are out, we do not expect any clarity on the Telangana statehood demand,” he stated.
The former minister, who came in the wee hours of the morning, performed special puja to Bramarambika Mallikarjuna Swamy.
