Senior Bharatiya Janata Party leader Ch Vidyasagar Rao on Tuesday demanded the State Election Commission intensify its efforts to check the influence of money power in the by-elections held for Kadapa Lok sabha and Pulivendula Assembly constituencies to be held on May 8.

Talking to media persons at party office in Nampally, the senior leader stated the Election Commission should order a probe into the money seized from Nellore and Badvel in Kadapa constituency as doubts are being raised that the money was on its way to be distributed for buying votes.

Mr Vidyasagar Rao further demanded that a probe should be ordered into the allegations leveled by Congress candidate DL Ravindra Reddy that YSR Congress Party president YS Jaganmohan Reddy was involved in Telugu Desam Party Anantapur MLA Paritala Ravi’s murder in 2005.

The BJP leader also demanded that the government should consider Dr Ravindra Reddy’s statement as evidence and produce him as one of the witnesses and reopen the case.
