EC: 31 to contest for Pulivendula, 57 for Kadapa

So far, 31 candidates have filed their nomination papers for the Pulivendula Assembly constituency while for Kadapa Lok Sabha seat 57 candidates have filed their papers on April 18 till 3 pm, as reported by the Returning Officers.

This was revealed through an official statement issued by the General Administration Department (Elections) at the state Secretariat on Tuesday.

Prominent among those who filed papers for Pulivendula Assembly seat were YS Vijayalakshmi of YSR Congress Party, former Agriculture minister YS Vivekananda Reddy as Congress nominee and from Mareddy Ravindranath Reddy TDP.

Noted  candidates among those who filed papers for Kadapa Lok Sabha seat were YS Jaganmohan Reddy of YSR Congress Party, Medical and Health Minister DL Ravindra Reddy from Congress party and MV Mysoora Reddy from Telugu Desam Party.

For Kadapa seat, besides the YSR Congress Party president, 10 other candidates with the name ‘Jaganmohan Reddy’ as independents filed nominations.

For Pulivendula Assembly seat YS Vijayalakshmi, widow of former chief minister YS Rajasekhara had an opponent from another independent candidate with the same name and four other independent candidates with the name Vijayalaxmi who figure in the list.  The final list of candidates will be out after the withdrawals of nomination on April 21.
