Adilabad, Sept 23 :
The police on Wednesday arrested Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) MLA Harish Rao and some other activists for attempting to conduct ‘praja court’ violating the prohibitory orders imposed by the district police. Tension prevailed in the Manchiryal town following the arrest of Harish Rao. Taking law and order into consideration, the Superintendent of Police clamped Section 144 in the town and did not give permission for conducting ‘praja court’ at Mancherial town in Adilabad district on Wednesday to try its suspended MLA G Arvind Reddy.
As the police rejected to give permission, Harish Rao convened the ‘praja court’ at the railway station premises. In the praja court convened at the railway station premises, Harish Rao termed suspended MLA G Arvinda Reddy as ‘Telangana drohi.’ Earlier, the TRS chief K Chandrasekhara Rao has suspended Mancherial MLA G Arvind Reddy for his alleged ‘anti-party’ averments.
Arvind Reddy alleged that Mr Rao was playing with the lives of people of Telangana by promising that he would get a separate State for them. Arvind Reddy said the party had made it a habit to brand those who speak the truth as anti-party activists and said he would attend the ‘praja court’ and prove his charges. He said Mr. Rao behaved like a dictator and that was why he praised the Nizam of Hyderabad only the other day. The suspension also reflected the feudal attitude in Mr Rao.
