Alleging that Ysr Congress Party president YS Jaganmohan Reddy has indulged in widespread corruption, senior Congress leader and MP V Hanumantha Rao on Tuesday appealed to party In-Charge for Andhra Pradesh Affairs Ghulam Nabi Azad not to spare the Kadapa MP.
Talking to media persons at the Gandhi Bhavan after meeting Mr Azad, Mr Hanumantha Rao said that the Congress-led UPA government at the Centre has not baulked at acting against former Union Telecom Minister A Raja or DMK MP K Kanimozhi.
“The Centre must act against Mr Jaganmohan Reddy who has made crores of rupees through corruption. The Congress must show to the people that it is determined not to spare anyone and is willing to act like it did against both Raja and Kanimozhi, or even Hasan Ali” the senior leader said.
The Centre must immediately verify the allegations made against Mr Jaganmohan Reddy and take immediate action against him.
Meanwhile, senior MLC Amos too echoed Mr Hanumantha Rao’s words and called for stringent action against Mr Jaganmohan Reddy.
The two leaders, speaking separately but with almost identical words, pointed out that some party leaders had been moving too closely with Mr Jaganmohan.
They demanded action against these leaders, who had been elected on the Congress ticket and are now betraying the party.
