Chiru slapped legal notice for PRP

Praja Rajyam Party leader from Prakasam district Lakshman Naidu on Wednesday served party president K Chiranjeevi with a legal notice, accusing him of cheating the party cadre with his decision to merge the PRP with the Congress.

Mr Naidu questioned the rationale behind the decision to merge the PRP with the Congress in his legal notice and alleged that Mr Chiranjeevi had cheated lakhs of people who voted for the party. “What about the lakhs of people who voted for ‘social justice’ plank on which the PRP fought the last general elections,” Mr Lakshman Naidu questioned.

Describing the decision to merge the PRP with the Congress as ‘unilateral’, the Prakasam leader said that Mr Chiranjeevi had failed to elicit the opinion of party leaders before acquiescing to the ruling party’s offer. Mr Lakshman Naidu also demanded that Mr Chiranjeevi refund the entire amount spent by him till date on the Praja Rajyam Party.
