Botsa leaves leveling of allegations to Babu's conscience

Under attack by Telugu Desam Party president N Chandrababu Naidu right from the time his name was cleared for the post of the Pradesh Congress Committee president, Transport Minister Botsa Satyanarayana on Tuesday said that he would chose to leave the charges to Mr Naidu’s conscience rather than responding to them.

Talking to media persons at Gandhi Bhavan, the PCC chief however, stated that he would not move the Courts like Mr Naidu who sought stay orders whenever allegations were raised against him.

“I am ready to face any probe against me,” Mr Satyanarayana said, in response to the allegations raised by the TDP chief that he was involved in liquor syndicates.

He pointed out that he had cooperated with the investigating agencies and the the government when charges were leveled against him that he was involved in the murky Volkswagen scam.

The PCC chief further refused to respond to being described as ‘the most corrupt person,’ by Congress MP Harsha Kumar. “The High Command would look into the allegations. I will not comment on the issue,” he said.

When asked to comment on the High Court’s ruling on the elections to Local Bodies, Mr Satyanarayana said that the Congress party is already geared up for the elections. He expressed confidence that the party would sweep the polls.

The PCC chief further stated that he would meet Praja Rajyam Party president K Chiranjeevi soon and discuss the formalities for completion of merger process.

Earlier, he discussed the fee and scholarships reimbursement issue with the party’s Students’ Wing leaders and asked them to create awareness on the issue among parents and students.

Later the PCC chief inspected the entire Gandhi Bhavan and discussed the premises condition with the office-bearers.

Meanwhile, senior PRP leader C Ramachandraiah, who was present at the Gandhi Bhavan, said that Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy has to take a decision on any Cabinet expansion.

“It is the prerogative of the Chief Minister to take a decision on the Cabinet expansion,” Mr Ramachandraiah said.
