TRS rhetoric behind T activists suicides: Erabelli

Telugu Desam Party Telangana Forum convenor Erabelli Dayakar Rao on Saturday alleged that the sustained rhetoric by Telangana Rashtra Samithi leaders was instrumental in driving young people of Telangana region to resort to suicides.

Talking to media persons at the NTR Trust Bhavan, Mr Dayakar Rao said that provocative speeches and the frequent false assurances were giving false hopes to the people, only to be dashed by the delay in the formation of the state. “This was the primary reason behind the students resorting to suicides,” the Tdp leader stated.

He added that the TRS leadership was unnecessarily targeting the Tdp instead of focussing on the fight for Telangana statehood. “If the TRS leaders, including its president K Chandrasekhar Rao and MLA Harish Rao have any genuine proof against the Tdp, they should come for an open debate on which party is more sincere in fighting for Telangana,” Mr Dayakar Rao said.

He continued, “KCR and his family have treated the separate Telangana statehood sentiment as a business opportunity and have raked in money. Only KCR’s family and his loyalists and those close to him have benefitted by the Telangana agitation.”

Mr Dayakar Rao also revealed that the party leaders will to the villages in the region and hoist Telangana flags. “This will invigorate the party cadre and provide them oxygen. On August 1, the party leaders would hold dharnas at all Mandal headquarters for separate Telangana.”

Party MLA Motkupalli Narasimhulu said that the Rs 4 lakh was given as ex-gratia to the family of M Yadireddy, who committed suicide for the sake of Telangana in New Delhi. He also demanded that the government give Rs 10 lakh as ex-gratia to the Telangana Martyrs family.
