SA leaders form 15-man team, to adopt scientific approach

Seemandhra Forum convener S Sailajanath on Tuesday stated that the Samaikhya Andhra protagonists would adopt a ‘scientific approach’ to their demand of maintaining the geographical status quo in the state by submitting a ‘scientifically prepared’ report to Congress In-Charge of State Affairs Ghulam Nabi Azad in New Delhi.

Talking to media persons after emerging out of meeting with Pradesh Congress Committee president Botsa Satyanarayana at Gandhi Bhavan, Mr Sailajanath expressed confidence that Centre would not opt for the division of state and announce a decision soon of keeping the state integrated, putting an end to the bifurcation of state issue.

The Seemandhra Forum convenor said that he had met the PCC chief following an invitation from Mr Azad to form a team to begin consultations on the controversial statehood issue.

He disclosed that a 15-member team has been formed with 10 members from Coastal Andhra and 5 members from Rayalaseema regions to present their views before the High Command on integrated state.

Mr Sailajanath reiterated his view that the development of the state on all fronts would only be possible with it remaining integrated. When asked to respond to Speaker Nadendla Manohar’s decision of rejecting the Telangana MLAs’ resignations, he refused to comment.
