Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee president Botsa Satyanarayana on Friday stated that he never changed his stand on the Telangana state formation issue.
Talking to media persons at Gandhi Bhavan, Botsa Satyanarayana denied the reports appeared in a section of media that he changed his stand on Telangana state after becoming the PCC chief. “I never changed my stand on Telangana anytime and I honour my promise to Telangana,” he said. He appealed to all party leaders to postpone the agitation for statehood as Congress president Sonia Gandhi underwent surgery and is not available for three weeks to take a decision on Telangana. Responding to the merger of Praja Rajyam Party into the Congress, he said that K Chiranjeevi has to take a final decision on it. He said the government will convene a meeting with farmers, who declared `crop holiday’ in Godavari districts.
