Pradesh Congress Committee president Botsa Satyanarayana on Tuesday feigned ignorance about the Telangana Rashtra Samithi president K Chandrasekhar Rao's proposed indefinite hunger fast for achieving the Telangana state formation.
Talking to media persons at Gandhi Bhavan, Botsa Satyanarayana categorically denied of having any knowledge about KCR's proposed fast. Therefore, he refused to comment further on the same. Stating the Centre and Congress High Command were concerned towards the Telangana state demand and making efforts to resolve the issue, he expressed confidence that the Centre would announce a clear decision on the statehood soon. “The high command is committed to resolve the issue in letter and spirit and holding consultation with all stake holders to find a solution to it,” he stated.
Botsa appealed to all the employees, who are participating in the general strike for the last eight days, to resume duties considering the inconvenience being caused to general people. He denied allegations that the government was not taking any measures to end the strike in the region. He partially justified the use of force against the protestors. “It is responsibility of the government to maintain law and order situation when the strikes and agitations are going on in the state,” he said.
