Congress Mp Sarvey Satyanarayana on Thursday expressed confidence that AICC president Sonia Gandhi would announce her decision on creation of Telangana state formation before her birthday.

Talking to media persons, Satyanarayana stated that Congress president Sonia Gandhi was waiting for a report from Congress in-charge of state Ghulam Nabi Azad, who is holding consultations with all leaders on the controversial statehood decision. "Once Ghulam Nabi Azad submits his report to Sonia Gandhi, she would take a decision on statehood issue after discussing the matter with the Prime Minister and core committee members," he said.

Satyanarayana claimed that the Telangana state formation was not possible with resignation of people representatives and blackmail of leaders. He advised Telangana Political Joint Action committee chairman Prof M Kodandaram, who is seeking resignation of Telangana elected representatives, to submit his resignation to Professorship in Osmania University expressing solidarity with Telangana agitation. He also suggested that the government employees, who are participating in the general strike, should first resign to their posts and then participate in agitation.
