Don't test our patience: KCR

Telangana Rashtra Samithi president K Chandrasekhar Rao asked the Centre not to test the patience of people in the region further and announce statehood for the region.

Addresing the Maha Dharna organised by the Telangana Employees Joint Action Committee at Indira Park here on Tuesday, KCR said that the Centre has turned a blind eye to the on-going agitation in the State. He accused the Centre of trying to buy the time by saying that there was no consensus on State's bifurcation. "Consensus is required to live together, and not to get separated," he said.

The TRS chief accused Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy and DGP V Dinesh Reddy of trying to incite Telangana activists for violence. "They have been repeatedly making statements threatening imposition of ESMA, foisting cases or taking stern action against the activists just to provoke the activists for violence," he said while requesting the activists to remain calm and continue the agitation in a peaceful manner. Regarding the RTC strike, KCR said that buses have not plied on Telangana roads on Tuesday and that was a clear indication that Monday's announcement of withdrawal of RTC strike was fabricated. He said Transport Minister Botsa Satyanarayana, RTC MD Prasada Rao and NMU State president Syed Mahmood hail from Seemandhra region and that's why they 'engineered the drama' of strike withdrawal.

Chandrasekhar Rao asked the striking employees not to fear for their jobs as they were completely safe. "People in entire Telangana region will protest even if an attender is sacked," he said. He also assured that their salaries for the strike period would be paid with interest and bonus after the formation of Telangana State.

The TRS president also advised the Seemandhra leaders to stop making provocative statements. "Telangana is already formed in our minds. We are just waiting for geographical recognition of our State. Therefore, the Seemandhra leaders must avoid making venomous statements against Telangana people and their leaders," KCR said.

While referring to the proposal of Rayal-Telangana KCR stated that there would be no compromise on the boundaries. "We want Telangana State as it existed in 1956 before formation of Andhra Pradesh. No change in the boundaries would be acceptable to the people of this region," he said while also dismissing the possibilities of Hyderabad being accorded the status of a Union Territory.

The TRS chief also appealed to the people to make the three-day Rail Roko agitation beginning from October 15 a success. The meeting was also addressed by TP-JAC chairman Prof M Kodandaram, Telangana Praja Front chairman Gaddar, Employees JAC leader Swamy Goud and other leaders.
