Refuting the charges that the Sakalu Janula Samme, the general strike by the employees demanding statehood, has been withdrawn Kodandaram announced that the general strike would continue till the formation of Telangana. "We have only changed the route of agitation, but we have not withdrawn it," he said.

The JAC chairman also claimed that the SCCL, RTC and other employees who have joined duties would re-join the strike, whenever required. He said that the TP-JAC has complete control on the agitation and it would continue the same until Centre announces the statehood for Telangana region.

Speaking on the occasion, former minister Komatireddi Venkat Reddy announced that he would start his fast-unto-death for the Telangana cause from November 1. He said about one lakh people from Nalgonda and neighbouring district would join his indefinite fast. Accusing Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy of adopting Divide and Rule policy, he warned that any effort to sabotage his proposed fast would result in dire consequences.

Venkat Reddy also exhorted the ministers from the Telangana region to resign to their posts and join the Telangana agitation.
