Telugu Desam Telangana Forum has demanded that the government order probe into the Polavaram tenders by a sitting judge of the High Court in the wake of allegations that came to light.
In a memorandum submitted to Governor E S L Narasimhan at Raj Bhavan here on Friday, the Telangana Forum members said they were ready to submit documentary evidences to prove the allegations if the government orders probe into the scam. The Forum said the probe would expose the nexus between the Telangana Rashtra Samithi and the Congress party on the Telangana issue and summary of diluting the 42 day long Telangana employees strike.
Talking to media persons after submitting memorandum, Forum convenor Errabelli Dayakar Rao said that the Governor gave an assurance that he would look into the case and take speedy action. He said the party was ready to even take up the issue in the court, if necessary. “The Polavaram tender is a gift by the Congress to TRS for giving up the employees general strike and Telangana agitation,” he said.
Errabelli said that the TRS had compromised on the Telangana agitation for political gains and the party has amassed illegal wealth for the benami companies of TRS president K Chandrasekhar Rao. He alleged that the Chief Minister’s Office has played a major role in the Polavaram tender scam and needed a judicial intervention to find the truth.
If the Governor fails to act on the Polavaram tenders scam, he said the Forum would take the case to Centre and courts as well. The TDP leader said that the party would not hesitate to table a No Confidence Motion in the State Assembly against the Kiran Kumar Reddy Government. He questioned whether the TRS and Jagan MLAs would make a claim for show of strength in the Assembly as they keep claiming often that the Kiran Government was already in minority.
He alleged that the TRS has always been colluding with the Congress whenever a political crisis emerged in the state and blaming the TDP of not playing its responsible role as an Opposition party.
