Rajya Sabha Mp V Hanumantha Rao has ridiculed media reports stating that the former advisor to government KVP Ramchander Rao played a role in defeating the No Confidence Motion in the assembly.
Talking to reporters at his residence here on Saturday, Hanumantha Rao said that KVP did not play any role to ensure that the Kiran Kumar Reddy Government defeat the No Confidence Motion introduced by the Telugu Desam Party in the assembly. "As many as 16 Congress MLAs voting in favour of the motion itself proves that KVP did not play any role," he said.
Demanding stern action against the rebel MLAs, the Rajya Sabha Mp said that the Congress should initiate disciplinary action against the legislators who joined the YSR Congress party and tried to topple the State Government. He expressed hope that all the MLAs would be disqualified once the party gives a formal complaint to Speaker Nadendla Manohar. He said that the party should have taken action against the MLAs in the beginning itself when they showed their inclination to join the YSR Congress party.
However, Hanumantha Rao said that he was pained to see that the Kiran Kumar Reddy Government has come in minority and is now surviving with the support of Praja Rajyam Party and Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen.
Hanumantha Rao also slammed the State Government for showing discrimination between the IAS officials and common man. He said that senior IAS officer Sri Laxmi, an accused in the Obulapuram Mining Corporation's illegal mining scam, has recently met Chief Secretary Pankaj Dwivedi to get herself reinstated in the service. Similar treated was given to an IAS officer Naveen Mittal who was indicted in a land allotment case, he alleged.
The Rajya Sabha Mp also asked Koneru Prasad to name all those involved in the Emaar Properties scam.
