With police clearing the way with the house arrest of two TRS leaders, TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu resumed his Rytu Porubata and reiterated that his party was committed for the  farmers’ cause.

As a prelude to the yatra, police have put under house arrest TRS MLA Harish Rao in Siddipet and the district TRS chief Capt Lakshmikantha Rao at Hanumakonda besides taking into custody 30 party activists in Chigurumamidi and Husnabad mandals.

Resuming his Rytu Poru Bata in the district from Lambadipalli in Chigurumamidi mandal of Husnabad assembly segment, Naidu slammed the government for its failure in providing minimum support price for the produce. He flayed Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy Government for not taking adequate measures to provide relief to farmers in distress.

Naidu demanded that the government should announce ex-gratia of Rs 20,000 per acre for cotton and Rs 10,000 for paddy and other crops which were damaged due to drought.

Alleging that the government was cheating poor in the name of supplying inferior quality rice at Rs 1 per kg, Naidu blamed the government for its failure in containing skyrocketing prices of essential commodities on one hand and it was swindling money through liquor and sand mafia.

Ruling Congress and TRS have ganged up to hatch a conspiracy to weaken the TDP in the Telangana region, he alleged.

As part of Rythu Poru Bata in the district, Naidu interacted with farmers, farm labour and tenant farmers in Lambadipalli, Mulakanoor and Sitarampur to get first hand information.

On the law and order front, police issued notices to 150 TRS activists warning of serious consequences if they obstruct Naidu’s porubata.

Meanwhile tension prevailed at Siddipet when the TDP activists and a group belonged to MLA Mynampati clashed over porubata. Protesting Naidu’s padayatra in Karimnagar, MLA Mynampati group removed flexes of Naidu and raised `Naidu go back’ slogans.
