Pradesh Congress Committee president Botsa Satyanarayana on Wednesday said that there was no need for the party or the government to take action against Excise Minister Mopidevi Venkata Ramana over the charges of receiving bribe from the liquor syndicate.
Talking to reporters, Botsa said that the N Venkata Ramana, who leveled the allegations of paying bribe to the Excise Minister and other leaders, was having a criminal background. Therefore, there was no need to react on his allegations, he said. However, he said that law would take its course on the liquor syndicate case.
Botsa also defended Family Welfare Minister DL Ravindra Reddy's stance on changes in his portfolio. He said he had followed minister's presser, wherein he expressed his ire over changes in his portfolio, and acknowledges his views. He said Ravindra Reddy was asked by the party high command not to take any hasty decision to which he obliged.
