Telangana Rashtra Samithi MLA T Harish Rao on Wednesday reiterated that his party would continue to stall the proceedings of the House until the government moves a resolution on separate Telangana.

Talking to media persons at Assembly media point, Harish Rao said that the Trs has made its stand clear on this issue in the Business Advisory Committee meeting convened under the chairmanship of Speaker Nadendla Manohar with floor leaders of all the parties on Wednesday. He said the Trs would extend cooperation to the Speaker if the government makes its stand clear on this issue and moves a resolution.

When the reporters asked Harish Rao about the Speaker’s reaction, he said that Nadendla Manohar was yet to respond on Trs decision.

Harish Rao also challenged Telugu Desam president N Chandrababu Naidu to introduce a resolution on Telangana in the assembly if he was really committed for the formation of separate state. He said that the Centre would honour its promise given to the people of region if Naidu himself moves a resolution in the assembly. “If the ruling party neglects the demand of region people, the Opposition Leader should act responsibly and take steps to fulfill aspirations of the people," he said.

The Trs leader said that his party would extend full cooperation to Naidu if he moves a resolution on Telangana. He recalled that the Centre had sought the assembly resolution to take a favourable decision on Telangana issue.

Disputing Governor E S L Narasimhan's statement that he was not showing partiality towards any region, he asked as to why he did not take steps for doing justice to Telangana students when they were being arrested in different cases. He also asked why Governor did not respond on Cheruku Sudhakar, who was arrested under PD Act in Nalgonda district.

Harish Rao criticized the Governor for not mentioning anything about 700 students who ended their lives for the cause of Telangana in his address to the assembly.
