Telangana Political Joint Action Committee chairman Prof M Kodandaram on Thursday said that the Telugu Desam Party and Congress should be held responsible for the students' suicide in the Telangana region.
Flagging off a bike rally in protest against students’ suicide at Housing Board Colony at Moulali, Kodandaram criticised the leaders for making provocative and controversial statements on the sensitive Telangana issue and forcing the students to end their lives. He alleged that both Congress and TDP have been cheating the people of region on Telangana without making their stand clear on the statehood issue despite repeated appeals by Union Home Minister P Chidambaram.
Prof Kodandaram called upon the Telangana people not to resort to suicides and fight unitedly to achieve statehood for the region “Don’t sacrifice your precious lives for the cause of Telangana State and fight unitedly without losing patience and hopes,” he appealed. The JAC will expose the stand of TDP and Congress in the bike rallies to be launched from April 10-20 and create awareness among people on the importance of formation of Telangana State.
The JAC chairman said that April 24 deadline has been set for the Congress and TDP to make their stand clear on Telangana statehood issue.
JAC Employees leader V Srinivas Goud and others were present in the bike rally. The bike rally that started from Moulali passed though Kapra, AS Rao Nagar and Cherlapally areas.
