Telugu Desam Party president N Chandrababu Naidu on Wednesday said that YSR Congress party honorary president Vijayamma and former chief minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy should be held responsible for crimes committed by Jagan Mohan Reddy.
Participating in an election campaign at Rajampeta Assembly Constituency in Kadapa district, Naidu said that the things would not have reached this level if Vijayamma and YSR would have acted swiftly when Jagan was resorting to illegal means to accumulate wealth. He said that Jagan would not have established links with Bhanu Kiran, the prime accused in murder of Maddelacheruvu Suri, and Mangal Krishna, who supplied arms for killing Suri if his parents would have kept a watch on his activities.
Naidu said that thousands of crores of illegal money accumulated by Jagan could be used to increase power generation in the State.
Stating that the TDP always supported weaker sections and fought for their cause, Naidu slammed the Centre and State Governments for increasing the prices of petrol and making the lives of middleclass people miserable. He blamed the government's wrong policies for increase in the prices of petrol and other essential commodities.
The TDP president assured that he would supply nine hours power to farmers and free power to the poor, free rice, increase in old age pensions, free education, employment allowance to unemployed and health insurance to poor if his party was voted to power in the next elections. He said voting in favour of the Congress or YSR Congress party would be a vote for corruption and irregularities.
TDP official spokesman Revanth Reddy, district unit president Lingareddy, former MLC Venkata Shiva Reddy, TDP district Mahila wing chief Kusuma Kumari and Rajampeta TDP candidate Brahmaiah also participated in the campaign.
