Talking to media persons at Assembly premises, Dr Shankar Rao described the attack on Dalit MP as 'unfortunate' and said that the incident would damage the image of the government and bring disrepute to the Congress party. If the party fails to initiate serious action against those responsible for the incident, Dr Shankar Rao said that the Congress party and government would suffer a huge damage in the coming days.

Responding to by-election results, he said that the Congress high command has focused its attention on it and would initiate action against those who are responsible for drubbing of party in the elections.

Demanding that the CBI probe against former government advisor K V P Ramachandra Rao, he asked as to why the CBI was not looking into KVP's role despite Sureedu, the personal secretary of former chief minister YSR, claiming that he has clinching evidence to prove KVP's involvement in amassing of wealth by Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy.
