Congress senior leader and Rajya Sabha member V Hanumantha Rao on Monday stated that it was very difficult for the Congress party to come to power in the 2014 elections if the party failed to rectify its own mistakes took place in the stint of former chief minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy.

Talking to media persons at his residence in Amberpet,  Hanumantha Rao alleged that thousands of acres of precious land surrounding the state capital was illegally encroached by the Kadapa leaders in collusion with the officials during the stint of former chief minister YSR.

He also alleged that YSR had liberally granted public lands for private parties violating the rules and regulations. He demanded that the state government order immediate probe into lands allotment to private parties. He said that the government should order probe into regularization of lands since 2002 in the state capital. “Without rectifying these mistakes it is very difficult to party to face the elections in 2014,” he stated.

When he sought land at Batukammakunta at Amberpet area for public purpose, he said that the government had allotted the land for private parties violating the norms. Rao warned that he would launch agitation if the government failed to allot the land at Batukammakunta for public purpose.

With all doors closed for bringing out YSR Congress president Jagan Mohan Reddy from the CBI, he accused the YSR Congress leaders of slanging mud on CBI Joint Director Lakshminarayana and making efforts to divert the attention of CBI.
