Rahul Gandhi invites Palwai to discuss State politics

Congress senior leader Rajya Sabha member Palwai Goverdhan Reddy on Tuesday said that he has been invited to New Delhi by AICC general secretary Rahul Gandhi to discuss the step to be take to strengthen the Congress party in the State.

Talking to media persons at assembly premises, he said that Rahul Gandhi invited him to New Delhi to know the exact reasons for the party's debacle in the recent by-elections and steps to rejuvenate the party at the ground level. Apart from informing him over the demand for change in the leadership issue, he said that he would also apprise Rahul Gandhi about the latest political situation in the State.

Govardhan Reddy hoped that Congress high command would never resort to change in leadership in the State at this juncture. Till the formation of Telangana state, he said that the High Command would not replace Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy from his post.

Responding to releasing of water from Nagarjuna Sagar dam to Krishna delta farmers, he said that the Telangana region was once again meted out with injustice with this decision. Despite injustice meted out to Telangana region, he took serious objection over no response from the Telangana Ministers over the issue. If the water level in Nagarjuna Sagar touches 510 ft level, he said that even State capital even would face drinking water problem.

Govardhan Reddy also took serious note on Panchayati Raj Minister K Jana Reddy comments on Nagarjuna Sagar Dam. He said that the Minister was making remarks without knowing the real facts about the dam.
