TDP accuses KCR of cheating people over Telangana deadline

Telugu Desam Telangana Forum convener Errabelli Dayakar Rao on Wednesday accused Telangana Rashtra Samithi president K Chandrasekhar Rao of cheating the people of region once again by announcing that the Centre would take a decision on the Telangana statehood before August this year.

Talking to media persons at NTR Trust Bhavan, Dayakar Rao said that KCR was issuing "baseless and irresponsible" statements as part of conspiracy reached with the United Progressive Alliance government on the statehood issue. Stating that hundreds of students and people laid down their lives believing KCR’s false promises on the statehood issue, he appealed to people of region not to believe KCR’s words. He advised the students and youth against taking extreme steps.

Stating that the Telugu Desam Party had not received any feelers from the Centre over the formation of Telangana by August, he said that the party president N Chandrababu Naidu responded positively over giving one more letter to the Centre making party's stand clear on the Telangana state.

Honouring the promise made with the people, he said that the TDP would extend financial assistance to those, who laid down their lives for the cause of Telangana statehood from July 30. He said the financial assistance would be given by district and mandal presidents of TDP after identifying the victims’ families.
