BJP to intensify Telangana statehood agitation

Bharatiya Janata Party state unit president G Kishan Reddy on Friday said that the party was ready to intensify its agitation for the formation of Telangana state on the lines of Sakala Janula Samme soon.

Talking to media persons after attending a case in connection with Telangana agitation at Nampally court, Kishan Reddy said that the party has decided to intensify statehood agitation soon on the lines of Sakala Janula Samme, the general strike that crippled the State for over 40 days. He alleged that the government has filed false cases against the activists, who participated in the struggle for statehood, to dilute the agitation.

However, Kishan Reddy said that he would continue his agitation for the Telangna state formation until the Centre announces its decision on the issue. He said that the BJP was in favour of formation of smaller states and was ready to support the bill on the Telangana, if introduced in the Parliament.
