TDP MPs vow to stall Parliament over coal scam

Telugu Desam Parliamentary Party leader Nama Nageshwara Rao on Friday said that the party, along with other opposition parties, would continue to stall the proceedings of Parliament over the issue of coalgate scam.

Talking to reporters before the Mahatma Gandhi's statue in Parliament, Nageshwara Rao said that the report of Comptroller and Auditor General of India (CAG) has exposed the multi-crore scam in allotment of coal blocks and the Prime Minister should resign from the post owning moral responsibility for the same. Demanding that the Centre cancel all the allotments of coal blocks, he said that the party MPs would not allow the Lok Sabha to function unless their demands are met.

Earlier, the Tdp MPs joined the other opposition parties including Samajwadi Party and Left Parties in stalling the proceedings of Lok Sabha. Following uproar, Lok Sabha Speaker Meira Kumar first adjourned the House till 12 noon and later adjourned it till Monday. After stating a dharna before the Speaker's chamber, the opposition MPs staged a sit-in protest before Mahatma Gandhi's statue in the Parliament.
