Shankar Rao demands additional security in view of threat calls

Former Minister Dr P Shankar Rao on Friday demanded that the State Government provide security to him as he was receiving threatening calls from unknown persons.

Talking to media persons in the Assembly premises, Dr Shankar Rao said he wrote letters to Director General of Police V Dinesh Reddy and City Commissioner of Police Anurag Sharma seeking protection to his life in the wake of threatening calls. Stating that his security has been reduced, he asked the government to provide additional security to him besides the existing security personnel.

As he has launched anti-corruption movement, he said that he has been receiving frequent threat calls from various unknown persons who are warning him of serious consequences and using filthy language.
