Cong MLCs asks Sonia to resolve Telangana issue by Sept 30

Taking a cue from ministers and ruling Congress MLAs, the Telangana MLCs from the region on Friday wrote a letter to Congress president Sonia Gandhi appealing her to resolve the Telangana statehood demand favourably.

The MLCs appealed to Sonia Gandhi to announce her decision before the Telangana March scheduled to held on September 30. They also stated that the government should announce the Telangana state formation without announcing any special financial packages and regional council for development to the region.

MLC Yadav Reddy appealed to Seemandhra leaders to cooperate with Telangana leaders in this regard. Otherwise, he said that the Seemandhra leaders would be treated as betrayers of Telangana. The MLCs also launched a signature campaign in the legislative council in this regard. "We have prepared a letter to be sent to our party president Sonia Gandhiji and also the members of the core committee. We plan to send it by fax," the MLCs stated.

Yadav Reddy hinted that they also had plans to go to New Delhi, if necessary, to meet the top leaders on the issue.

It may be mentioned that Ministers from Telangana region have already sent a letter to Sonia Gandhi and other senior party leaders.
