Panchayat Raj Minister K Jana Reddy on Wednesday stated that he would announce his decision on Telangana March after having a discussion with Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy on the issue.
Talking to media persons at the State Secretariat, Jana Reddy said that Kiran Kumar Reddy asked the Ministers to persuade Telangana Political Joint Action Committee to defer the Telangana March in the wake of Ganesh immersion and Conference on Biodiversity falling on September 29 and October 1 respectively. He said that the Ministers would have a meeting with the Chief Minister over the issue and he would announce his decision after consulting Kiran Kumar Reddy.
When the reporters insisted him to announce his stand on March, Jana Reddy said “I am not a middleman or an informer to you. I am a responsible Minister and would ensure that the March is held peacefully.”
Jana Reddy said that the government would file a special leave petition in the Supreme Court on increasing the reservation for BCs to 50 percent in the local body elections. He also said that the government would appeal to the Centre not to stop release of funds for the development of rural areas in the wake of polls to local bodies.
