Telangana Political Joint Action Committee chairman Prof M Kodandaram on Saturday called upon the activists to participate in the Telangana March in large numbers and make it a grand success.
Talking to media persons, Kodandaram said that the activists should observe restraint and organise the March peacefully despite obstructions created by the government. No one should disturb law and order and organise the March peacefully, he said. However, he said that the government failed to honour its promise and have resorted to illegal arrests and slapping bind-over cases by stopping vehicles from entering Hyderabad.
Asking the government to honour its promise, he demanded unconditional release of Telangana activists who were arrested across the Telangana region in the wake of Telangana March. By resorting to arrests, he said that the government plans to dilute the Telangana March. He also denied media reports that the TPJAC gave assurance that it would organise the March peacefully.
Kodandaram said the government should take serious disciplinary action against the officials who failed to honour its orders. TNGO president Devi Prasad also pressed the government for immediate release all pro-Telangana activists who were arrested in connection with the March.
Earlier, Kodandaram met Congress MPs from region at MP G Vivek residence and discussed about organising the March.
