BJP describes Telangana March as grand success

Describing Sunday's Telangana March as a grand success, BJP State president G Kishan Reddy on Monday alleged that the State Government and Police tried to sabotage the March.

Talking to reporters after appearing before a court at Nampally in connection with a case registered during Sakala Janula Samme, Kishan Reddy said that the organisers kept the promise of organising Telangana March peacefully.  However, he said that the police provoked the Telangana activists on several occasions and at different places to incite violence. He condemned the police for causing obstructions for the Telangana March despite giving permission for the event.

Kishan Reddy alleged that the government tried to scare the Telangana activists and leaders, both physically and mentally, to ensure failure of Telangana March. He said the police was now trying to target the students to spoil their future by booking false cases. However, he said that the attempts by the government and police would not deter the pro-Telangana workers and leaders from continuing their agitation till they achieve statehood for the region. He demanded that the Centre take an immediate decision on Telangana to resolve the issue.

Regarding the case, the BJP president said that the police have booked a false case against him during the general strike. He said he, along with other leaders, took part in the demonstration organised at Mint Compound during the general strike. However, the police registered a case under false charges.
