Vijayawada MP Lagadapati Rajagopal on Thursday claimed that Telangana Rashtra Samithi president K Chandrasekhar Rao was not invited by the top leaders of the Congress party to the national capital to hold talks on Telangana.
Talking to reporters after submitting a 10-page report on the Telangana March to Union Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde here, Rajagopal dismissed KCR's statement that he was in New Delhi for a month on the invitation of Congress leaders. He said the Congress leader neither invited KCR nor they held any talks with him on the Telangana issue. He accused KCR of misleading the people of the region by making false claims.
Rajagopal also reiterated that Telangana could not be formed without having consensus on the issue. He also took a dig on the Telangana March held on September 30. Claiming that nearly 30,000 people participated in the March, he ridiculed the claims of Telangana Political Joint Action Committee which described the March as a grand success.
In his report on Telangana March, Rajagopal alleged that Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar was pressurised by the ministers from the region to give permission for the Telangana March. However, he alleged that the JAC violated the conditions laid for the March and its activists resorted to large scale violence.
