Launching a diatribe against TRS President K Chandrasekhar Rao, YSR Congress has said, the leader and his party have been struggling for existence in Telangana as the base is fast eroding with Sharmila’s padayatra evoking huge response in the region.

“The criticism against YSR comes from the fear of KCR losing ground in his home turf as he had time again traded the Telangana ideology for personal gains. His tall promises at the Suryapet public meeting shows that he is scared of YSRCP and they were all successfully implemented by YSR,” the Party leaders, Jitta Balakrishna Reddy, B Ravindra Naik and S Venkateswara Rao told reports here on Monday.

When Telangana agitation was at its peak during the Sakala Janula Samme, he sold out the movement for Polavaram project tenders to his close associate and recently he camped in Delhi for over 25 days, without revealing who called him for talks and what was the outcome. After his return his tone has softened against the Congress and is after YSRCP, they said.

“KCR has been rubbing shoulders with Congress which has to give Telangana and has been training its guns on YSRCP, which is making a deep dent in the region. The baffled KCR has been on a mission to spread falsehood against our Party as he sees a formidable force in YS Jagan Mohan Reddy in Telangana region,” they said.

Though TRS had an electoral understanding with other parties, it won the Parakal seat by a wafer thin majority which speaks of YSRCP popularity in the region and the consolidation came with the meetings at Bhongir, Khammam, Mahboobnagar and the ongoing Maro Praja Prasthanm of Sharmila, they said.

The remarks he made against YSR at the meeting were uncharitable as YSR had drafted the best irrigation schemes for Telangana which were shelved by the Kiran Kumar Reddy government. Instead of taking on Congress, KCR criticising YSRCP shows his ulterior motives, they said.

“The compromising quality of KCR has come to the fore as his bête noire Lagadapati Rajagopal getting away with the Wakf Board lands. Though YSR died four years back, bringing his name into controversies shows that KCR has an understanding with Congress and is leading the movement to further his personal gains,” they said.

TRS is a political party and not a Telangana ideology in itself. They are two different entities. There are enough number of Telangana supporters in our party as well and the swelling popularity can vouch for that, they said and flayed KTR for his remarks on YSR and his family members.
