On a day of hectic political activity, Telangana Congress MPs could tilt the balance with an assurance from the Centre on the separate State issue.
Some of the MPs who boycotted Tuesday's meeting had exhibited the seriousness of the issue and with voting on FDI in retail sector looming large and the Congress is leaving no stone unturned. As part of it, Union Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde is understood to have told the Congress MPs from Telangana that an all Party meeting will be convened after the Parliament session on Telangana issue to decide about further action towards a separate state.
Congress needs it members in full strength in Lok Sabha for voting if the opposition press for a division and hectic activity is going on with TRS President too in attendance.
In another significant deveopment Ghulam Nabi Azad, in-charge of Andhra Pradesh affairs, has spoken to Congress President Sonia Gandhi about Telangana issue.
It is just not the FDI voting, but Andhra Pradesh is very crucial for Congress in the next general elections and Rahul Gandhi emissaries have already visited to State capital to assess the mood of the people and the Working Committee will decide on the possible election strategy.
