TDP's Rajya Sabha MP Sujana Chowdhary on Wednesday apologised to his party colleagues for referring them to as "dogs" when they criticised his abstention from Rajya Sabha during voting on FDI issue.
Reacting to criticism over his abstention, he reportedly remarked that "dogs would bark when elephants walk". Condemning their reaction, he said some leaders were criticising him although they do not match his stature. However, his reported remarks drew more criticism within the Telugu Desam Party.
Following the intervention of TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu, Sujana Chowdhary has reportedly called P Keshav, K Dayakara Reddy and other leaders to apologise for his remarks. He reportedly told them his reaction was not intended to hurt anyone. However, he expressed deep regrets if someone was hurt with his statements.
