Leader of the Opposition in Legislative Council Dadi Veerabhadra Rao alleged that the State was under severe financial crisis.
Speaking on Motion of Thanks on Governor's Address here in the council on Saturday, Veerabhadra Rao claimed that in Andhra Pradesh, every child is born with a debt of Rs 6,000 while on an average, the debt on each family in the State was Rs 72,000. This ratio will increase to Rs 83,000 per family within two years.
The TDP leader said that the government's inefficiency has pushed the State in a debt trap. He ridiculed the claims of implementation of welfare programmes in the State.
Dadi also accused the Congress Government of indulging and promoting corruption at a large scale. He said the benefits of Rs 80,000 crore spent on Jalayagnum scheme were yet to reach the farmers. He said the projects should have been prioritised by the government to benefit at least a section of farmers.
He also demanded that the government table the documents related to Polavaram tenders on the floor of the House. He also alleged irregularities in the recruitments done through APPSC and other departments.
